Bequests

Bequests are the most popular form of planned gifts and can be as simple as including one or two sentences in your Will.

There are two types of Bequests – Specific Bequests and Residual Bequests.

A Bequest to Animal Rescue, Inc. will allow you to achieve a 100% charitable estate tax deduction.

Specific Bequests

Through a Specific Bequest, you can designate all of your estate, a specific dollar amount, a set percentage or specific property to Animal Rescue, Inc.  Here are some examples of Specific Bequests:

Example #1

“I give, devise and bequeath to Animal Rescue, Inc., located at 2 Heritage Farm Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349, all of my estate, including real and personal property, to be used for its general purposes.”

Example #2

“I give, devise and bequeath to Animal Rescue, Inc., located at 2 Heritage Farm Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349, the sum of $________ (_________________ Dollars) to be used for its general purposes.”

Example #3

“I give, devise and bequeath to Animal Rescue, Inc., located at 2 Heritage Farm Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349, ______ percent (__%) of my estate to be used for its general purposes.”

Example #4

“I give, devise and bequeath to Animal Rescue, Inc., located at 2 Heritage Farm Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349, [insert description of property or stock] to be used for its general purposes.”

Residual Bequests

Through a Residual Bequest, once all debts, expenses and Specific Bequests are paid from your estate, the remaining amount would be transferred to Animal Rescue, Inc.  Here are some examples of Residual Bequests:

Example #1

“I give, devise and bequeath to Animal Rescue, Inc., located at 2 Heritage Farm Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349, all of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, including real and personal property, to be used for its general purposes.”

Example #2

“I give, devise and bequeath to Animal Rescue, Inc., located at 2 Heritage Farm Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349, ______ percent (__%) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, including real and personal property, to be used for its general purposes.”

Why is it preferable to designate your Bequest to Animal Rescue, Inc. for its general purposes?

When you designate your Bequest to Animal Rescue, Inc. for its general purposes, our Sanctuary for Life can use your gift where the need is the greatest.

Should you desire, Animal Rescue, Inc. can be listed as the recipient of one or more Specific Bequests, in addition to being named in a Residual Bequest to receive the “rest, residue and remainder” of your estate.
